We were going to go to Aburi this weekend but Chloee is not feeling very well. Nate and I decided to take a much needed trip to the temple. I love going to the temple on a regular basis and have not had the chance to go since we have been out here. We took a minibus there. Nate put it so wonderfully when he said “If a bus and a Tro Tro were to breed, this is what you would get.” It was bigger than the traditional tro tro but no where near the size of a bus.
On the minibus.
The roads are awful everywhere!
Quick pit stop at a “local bathroom”
We arrived in Accra at “the Circle.” This is what it looked like outside all the hustle and bustle of the cars. This is one of the busiest areas in all of Accra.
The temple is beautiful inside and out. We were also able to talk with the mission president and his wife for at least 30 minutes. I guess Nate served with someone on his mission that is related to the mission president’s wife…or something like that, either way they had some connection.
After the temple we went to the Mall and Stephen and Sonya met up with us. Sonya had JUST flew back into Accra from the states in the morning. Stephen did a bit of Grocery shopping and when we came out to the car Sonya was passed out…and rightfully so after that long flight.
We had a chance to do a bit of looking around while in Accra then took a late adventure back home. We ended up home after midnight. There is a guy named Stephen who is coming to our classes who has a cab. We called him and he met us in Anynim (sp) where the Tro Tro dropped us off. He is an awesome guy!
